These Are a Few of My Favorite Things (Christmas Edition!)

In honor of Christmas being in TWO days, here are some of my Christmastime favorites! (Also, did anyone get the song reference in my title 😉).

Favorite Christmas Song

I love so many different Christmas songs, but my all time favorite has to be Bruce Springsteen’s version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I love his voice in the song and it is just so playful!

Favorite Christmas Movie

Absolutely cannot pick just one for this question. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation never fails to make me laugh! As for animated movies, while I love all of the classics, I gotta say Mickey’s Once/Twice Upon a Christmas are a delight to watch. I never get tired of watching them!.

Favorite Christmas Treat

Peanut Butter Balls!

Favorite Christmas Activity

I love making Christmas cookies with music on in the background. I am also starting a new tradition with my best friend where we make homemade ornaments together!

Favorite Christmas Book

I haven’t read an abundance of YA Christmas books, but my favorite so far has to be Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. I actually haven’t read it for a few years, but I remember it being super cute and all three stories connected somehow.

Favorite Decoration

I love decorating the house for Christmas. I do it right after Thanksgiving. My favorite decoration to put up is the Nativity scene. I have set it up basically my whole life and it is very important to me. Reminds me of the real reason for the season!

Giving  or receiving presents?

I love giving presents. The whole process of picking out a perfect gift, wrapping it, and seeing the person’s reaction is one of the best parts of Christmas!

Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Wrapping paper, always. It so much fun to wrap presents and there is an infinite amount of cute Christmas paper.

Real or fake tree?

I have had both trees, but real trees are my favorite. As much as I love the convenience of pre-lit artificial trees, nothing can replace that authentic Christmas tree smell!

What are some of your favorite things about Christmas? I can’t believe we are so close! Only two more days!

Soundtrack To My Life Book Tag

My span of internet-less days is over! What better way to get back into blogging than a fun book tag. I found this particular one over at The Books Out Loud and self-tagged myself, because it looked to fun to pass up!

Opening Credits: favorite childhood book:

I absolutely adored the Junie B. Jones series! There was even a point where I bought the whole series of books and I read them all the time. Everywhere I went, I had one ready to read!

Waking up: A book that got you out of a reading slump:

I was in a bit of a slump there for a while, so I reread Fangirl. That book always makes me happy, and just puts me into this positive mood to read.

School: A book that you ended up reading for school and ended up loving it:

I remembered I had to read The Mysterious Benedict Society once, and I fell in love with it! It was one of the first books that I read that was on the larger size, and was the first step into some older fiction. It was also very interesting and unique.

Falling In Love: An author you love so much you want to read all of their books:

Honestly, there are so many authors that I will read whatever book they put out. Just to name a few, Rick Riordan, John Green, and Veronica Roth.

Fight: Book with the best action sequences:

Divergent has some pretty good action sequences, that all in all are very dramatic and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Break up: A book or series you didn’t finish and do not intend to finish:

An Abundance of Katherines…honestly I have no idea how many times I have tried to start this book. I have only gotten 30 pages in each time, and I really doubt I will ever finish it.

Hanging with friends: A book that you think everyone should read:

I think that Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is a great book for people to read, because of its message. It deals with some dark stuff, and I feel that everyone could benefit from a trip through the mind of a hurting person.

Breakdown: Book that seriously affected you or had you crying your eyes out:

Have you read TFIOS? If so, you totally understand.

Road Trip: Your favorite series (more than 3 books):

  1. Harry Potter (duh)
  2. Percy Jackson
  3. Hunger Games

Honestly I could go one, but here are the basic answers.

Flashback: Your favorite book from 5 years ago:

I honestly do not even remember. Like at all.

Getting Back Together: A book you can’t stop rereading:

Contemporary-wise, I will never get tired of rereading Fangirl. Fantasy-wise (of course Harry Potter, but I want a different answer) I would have to say The Darkest Minds series. I can pick one of those up any given day and be completely sucked into the story.

Moment of Triumph: Longest book you’ve ever read:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, clocking in at nearly 900 pages. I am not even ashamed of how fast I read this beast.

Death Scene: Book or series you wish had ended differently:

THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS. This series was soooo good…until Blood of Olympus! Percy Jackson books are some of my favorite, so the fact that I wish it had ended differently even makes me sad. At least the Trials of Apollo will be out soon 🙂

Funeral: Book with the best or worst epilogue:

I know that for many, Harry Potter’s epilogue is either one you love or hate. I just so happen to be one of those who love the ending. I love the glimpse of the second generation and just the happiness of it all. All was well.

End Credits: Who do you tag?

Anyone who wants to do this tag!

2015 End of the Year Survey

Happy New Year!

Let the end of the year posts begin! To prepare for the new year, I have decided to look at 2015 overall so I can start making some goals. I got this particular survey from The Perpetual Page Turner because it is seriously one of the best ones out there! It’s here 6th time doing this survey, so you should really check it out. Answers do not have to books published this year, they can be from any book you read in 2015.

I am scared to look at my goodreads accounts, because I really dropped the ball on my reading goal the second half of the year. Let’s see the damage!

2015 Reading Stats

Number Of Books You Read: according to what I *actually* goodreads…29
Number of Re-Reads: around 9
Genre You Read The Most From: Fantasy

Best in Books

1. Best Book You Read In 2015?

Hands down because I wait so long for this book!

I loved If I Stay, so I was really looking forward to this, but it didn’t blow me away.

 3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?

Surprising because it is so much different from the TV show and not in a good way!

 4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)?

I push the Lunar Chronicles on every person I meet, I don’t know if they ever read it, but they should ;).

 5. Best series you started in 2015?  Best Series Ender of 2015?

Series Ender: In the After Light by Alexandra Bracken

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

 6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2015?

JENNIFER. NIVEN. I need more books from her. Please!

Jennifer Niven

7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone?

I didn’t read anything way out of my comfort zone this year, so I’m not sure how to answer this. Maybe To Kill a Mockingbird, since I don’t normally read classics.

 8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?

The Darkest Minds has so much action I loved it. You can’t get enough of the adventures Ruby and the gang have.

 9. Book You Read In 2015 That You Are Most Likely To Re-Read Next Year?

Definitely want to reread Queen of Shadows before the release of the 5th Throne of Glass book.

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4)

10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2015?

Going to cheat here and say a book I WANTED to read this year but never got around to doing it. Magonia’s cover is absolutely breathtaking.

Magonia (Magonia, #1)

11. Most memorable character of 2015?

Chubs from The Darkest Minds! He always comes to mind for tag questions asking about funny characters!

 12. Most beautifully written book read in 2015?

I can not stress how much I love the ending of this book. Everything is tied up. It may not be the most lyrical novel, but a nice ending is pretty beautiful to me.

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2015?

I Was Here was very thought-provoking for me, although not that life-changing.

 14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2015 to finally read?

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn!

 17. Book That Shocked You The Most

If you have read Crown of Midnight, you know that there a ton of surprises!

18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!)

CINDER AND KAI. I can’t wait for Stars Above so we can see them after Winter!

19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year

Alex, Jordan, and Bear have the cutest friendship! You never know, there could a romance between and Alex and one of the guys in the future, but as of right now their friendship is already heart-warming.

20. Favorite Book You Read in 2015 From An Author You’ve Read Previously

Really just every series I continued this year, as well as rereads like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

21. Best Book You Read In 2015 that You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure

THERE WAS SO MUCH HYPE I HAD TO.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2015?

Anyone from the Throne of Glass series ^^^ they are all pretty awesome.

23. Best 2015 debut you read?

I read books that were YA debut but the author had other books. If I’m not mistaken, Akarnae was Lynette Noni’s first ever book, and it was splendid.

24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year?

Fairest is a novella in The Lunar Chronicles, but it developed Luna extremely well. I love Levana’s characterization and how she influences the city around her. It sets a nice background for Winter.

25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read?

Since You’ve Been Gone is so much fun! Full of fun summer adventures and a cute romance, a summer must read in my opinion.

26. Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2015?

ALL THE FEELS 😥

27. Hidden Gem Of The Year?

According to Goodreads, only 427 people read Akarnae by Lynette Noni. I won this book, and I am glad I did, because otherwise I probably wouldn’t have ever read this great story!

28. Book That Crushed Your Soul?

See above ^^

29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2015?

Yes this is a reread, but Fangirl is still one of my favorite unique books. It is rare to find a book about someone who likes books, but I’m hoping that Rowell’s success will influence some 2016 books.

30. Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)?

You can check my review if you want to see all the reasons I didn’t like this book. I loved To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, so this was a MAJOR letdown for me.

Bookish Life

1. New favorite book blog you discovered in 2015?

I discovered The Writing Hufflepuff this year and I am in love with her blog! She’s really funny and has some great post ideas. You should really check her out!

2. Favorite review that you wrote in 2015?

There are 2 particular reviews I remember that I LOVED writing, which is my Akarnae and Crown of Midnight Review. I feel like they turned out really well and it was just really fun to write them.

3. Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog?

The Best of Rick Riordan’s Chapter Titles is my favorite! You have no idea how fun it was to look at every title of his books, plus you guys seemed to like them as well!

4. Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)?

I hosted my first buddy read, and it showed me what I need to do differently for my next one! (Yes, I said next one!)

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2015?

I created an original Disney Song book tag, and I got to see it spread amongst several blogs. It was really cool, and I hope to make more tags in the future!

6. Most challenging thing about blogging or your reading life this year?

TIME TIME TIME. For a few months I barely read anything, which lead to no reviews, which lead to me feeling super guilty and having no motivation to blog. It was quite the rough patch.

7. Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?

This is actually really funny. So before The Heir came out, Kiera Cass had readers unlocking chapters with the hashtag #unlocktheheir. It was pretty big news, so I made a post on it (not even a very detailed post, just a quick one) and people would type in unlock the heir into google and my blog popped up second! I ended up getting around 400 and something views on that one little post.

8. Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?

The Stages of a Reader on Release Day

9. Best bookish discover (book related sites, book stores, etc.)?

My biggest and most surprising discovery of the year is when I saw something about Stars Above and a wedding short story. I FREAKED OUT! I though The Lunar Chronicles was over, and now I still have 9 short stories to read including a WEDDING ONE.

10.  Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?

HAHA no. Reading slumps ruin book goals!

Alright well that’s that. I am skipping the Looking Ahead part of the survey, because those are questions I will be discussing in a few days. I really love this survey, it has so many different questions! I did notice that I was getting a little repetitive because I didn’t read as much as I would have liked, but that is just motivation for next year!

12 Days of Christmas Book Tag

Yes, Yes, I know that Christmas was yesterday, but that doesn’t mean all of the festivities stopped at midnight! It took me awhile to get into the holiday spirit this year, and I finally have it. Tomorrow I am going to post my Christmas wrap-up and then it will all be over, so I decided to squeeze in one more Christmas post before the year ends. Again, I wasn’t tagged for this, but I saw these on TinyObessions’s blog, it was the perfect post for today. Let’s get to the questions!

On the 1st of Christmas, my true love sent to me a partridge in a pear tree.

The partridge stood alone in the Fangirlpear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?

There are so many to choose from! I guess I will have to go with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I recently reread it (again) and fell in love with the story all over again. It is such a unique story and Cath is the most relatable character I have ever read, and I will forever love this book.

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me two turtle doves.

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1)Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?

Ahhhh, I’m going to have to go with Percy and Annabeth from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus series. I tend to love relationships in series because it is (normally) not insta-love and you can really see the relationship grow. These two bring out the best of one another and I love watching it being incorporated into the story.

On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: Three French Hens.

The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?

I have read many trilogies, but The Darkest Minds is one of the main ones that I remember loving each book. It is common for trilogies to start off strong and get worse, but Alexandra Bracken tied up her story so well. It is one of the books where I honestly don’t want to read more of it (even though I would and love whatever she came out with) because everything was answered in a very satisfying ending.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me four calling birds.

Harry Potter Boxset (Harry Potter, #1-7)Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favorite series?

Do I even need to explain this one? Of course it is Harry Potter! This series has not only shaped my reading taste, but it has also shaped me. I will never not love this series! P.S. To all the Potterheads out there, it’s Harry Potter Weekend 😉

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me five golden rings.

Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5)One ring to rule them all! Who is your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

Hands down Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles. After reading the novella Fairest that gave us her back story, I fell in love with her character. She is one of those antagonists where you can almost reason with why they are doing certain things, but she is so twisted that you love to hate her. Levana is so complex and really just an awesome villain.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me six geese a laying.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7)Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favorite world/world-building?

As much as I don’t want to use Harry Potter again (XD), there really isn’t anything else that compares to Rowling’s work. She thought out every single detail, and it really adds another layer of magic to the series.

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me seven swans a swimming.

Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favorite animal sidekick?

I am at a loss right now. I can not think of a single animal sidekick in a YA book. I’m going to cheat here and say Scarlet from the Lunar Chronicles, since Winter calls her her “animal pet.” I don’t even know if that works, but oh well.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me eight maids a milking.

The Last Olympian (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #5)Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

At Camp Half Blood they have plates and goblets that appear with whatever food you imagine. I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty great to me.

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me nine ladies dancing.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favorite kick butt female lead?

Celaena Sardothien is definitely the most intense heroine I have ever read. She could probably kill any strong leads in other books without a blink of an eye.

On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me ten lords a leaping.

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1)How about your favorite leading lad?

UGGHH another hard one! Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices is always a great option. Plus, he likes to read, which is adds a ton of bonus points to him!

On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me eleven pipers piping.

If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)What is your favorite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

If I Stay showcases a variety of music and talks quite a bit about instruments. It was the first time I was introduced to the cello and Yo Yo Ma, while also incorporating my love for rock music.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: 12 drummers drumming.

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)Drum roll please…what is your favorite read of this year?

Winter by Marissa Meyer, mainly because I waited so long for this book and it ended up being *perfect*.

Dashing Through the Snow Book Tag

Dashing through the Snow

Since I haven’t been around much this December, I have a TON of Christmas themed posts I want to do! So of course, I had to do a Christmas tag. I saw this particular tag @ DatLittleBlog and it was exactly what I was looking for, so even though I wasn’t really tagged, I’m still going to do it 🙂

Name a book you would like to see under the Christmas tree

Finding Audrey

Finding Audrey has been a book on my tbr list since it first came out, so I definitely wouldn’t mind if this was under the tree this year.

A book you’ll be reading this Christmas season

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares (Dash & Lily, #1)

This is the main Christmassy book that I want to try this year. I’m also going to be starting a new series (not sure which one yet!) but this is my *holiday* read.

Favourite Christmas movie

AHHH I could probably do a whole post on this! Christmas movies are a must, so there is not just one favorite…there are many favorites.

  • The Santa Clause 1,2,3
  • Christmas Vacation
  • Elf
  • Mickey’s Once/Twice Upon a Christmas
  • Polar Express

Also all of the classics like Rudolph, Frosty, and Charlie Brown.

Do you like snow?

I love the way snow looks in the morning, where no one has touched it and it is a blanket of white. That being said, I hate the way it looks on the roads all slushy. Also, if it’s snowing, the chances are it is extremely cold, which doesn’t mix to well with me. I guess it is a love-hate relationship.

To give or to receive?

While I do love opening a few gifts, giving gifts has always been more exciting for me. I love picking out the perfect gift, wrapping it up, and watching their reaction. It is one of the best feelings in the world!

What fictional place would you like to spend Christmas at?

HOGWARTSSSSSS.  I mean have you seen the castle decorated for Christmas, it is absolutely beautiful!

Fondest Christmas memory

I have always loved decorating the house and making cookies. Without those two activities, it isn’t truly Christmas to me.

Can you say Christmas tree ten times FAST in a row(pronouncing it correctly!)

I just tried this and no, Apparently I can not. I started out strong but around the sixth or seventh “Christmas tree” I was creating a new word completely (lol XD).

That was a great holiday tag! I’m not sure who has done this tag and who hasn’t, so if you haven’t I tag you! If you decide to participate in this tag, please link up with me so I can see your answers! I could read tag answers all day, I swear!

My 2015 Goodreads Choice Awards Votes

It’s that time of year again…The Goodreads Choice Awards! I always love this time of the year where you can look back at the year of releases and vote for your favorites. It’s a great way of remembering what all came out that year and what amazing books you were able to read. I love voting so much, I decided I would share it with you! Of course I am only doing the YA/MA categories, but goodreads has it open for all books.

If you want to vote yourself, here is the link: Goodreads Choice Awards YA

For Overall Best Young Adult Fiction I Chose…

All the Bright Places

ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by Jennifer Niven

This book came out at the beginning of the year and I still think about it. This was definitely  my favorite contemporary of the year, and I really hope it wins!

For Overall Best Young Adult Science Fiction/Fantasy I Chose…

Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4)

WINTER by Marissa Meyer

THAT’S RIGHT I VOTED FOR A BOOK I HAVEN’T EVEN READ YET! This was actually pretty tough because Queen of Shadows was one of the choices. However, I have so so so so so much hope and excitement for this book I want it to blow me away. Also it’s coming out in three days. THREE. I can’t take it!

For Overall Best Middle Grade/Children’s I chose…

The Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, #1)

MAGNUS CHASE AND THE GODS OF ASGARD by Rick Riordan

How can you not vote for a Riordan book? I have every year. I actually just started this book on my kindle the other day, and I love it already.

So that’s that! To be honest, before I made this post, I thought there was more individual categories, but there were only 3 I could vote for 😦 However, it gave me the idea of making my own book choice awards where I could narrow down the topic more. Do you guys think that sounds fun? Let me know down in the comments!

Liebster Award (Kinda)

Hey guys, I was nominated for anotehr Liebster award. I love doing these posts because I absolutely love answering the questions. However, I have done quite a few at this point, and I a running out of people to nominate! I don’t want to get in the habit of nominating the same person every time (even though they deserve it ;). So this time, I am just going to answer the questions. I am going to start making a list of new links for future tags, so I next time I will have some new people!

Thanks to Rogan @ Signing On for nominating me! You have definitely given me some of the best questions, and I am very excited to answer them!

What is your favourite book troupe? – While there are many troupes that are extremely boring, there are two that I find myself enjoying more than not. The tortured soldier, when the main character has such a hard life leading up to their heroic act (cough cough HARRY POTTER). Then another one I like is the funny/quirky side character that steal the show in their own way.

What is your least favourite piece of furniture?- Stools. This is not a chair. There is nowhere to rest my back. I am eternally uncomfortable.

What is your best quality, physical or not?- I am actually a very determined person, so when a serious project comes my way, I will not stop working until it is perfect.

If you had to die your hair an unnatural colour for the rest of your life, which colour would you choose?- Oh I am not a fan of unnatural colored hair. This is so hard. Can black be considered unnatural? Or a very obvious unnatural blonde?

What is your favourite thing about blogging?- I love the days when I actually come up with a unique post. Also, seeing other people’s perspectives on books.

Why did you choose to blog and not do videos? Did you ever consider doing videos? Do you do both?- Editing videos take wayyyy more time than writing a post, especially when you mess up when talking as much as I do.

How would you describe your book buying habits?- I am pretty good when it comes to buying books because  I know that i have no money! I try to utilize my local library and shop at half priced books more.

What is your preferred genre?- Fantasy. Absolute sucker for world building, and I tend to read series more than standalones.

Do you like Middle Grade, YA or Adult fantasy more?- Probably YA, but Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are both considered middle grade, and those are two amazing series.

Those were some great questions! I’m scheduling and premaking some posts today, so watch out for those!

Fall Time, Cozy Time BooK Tag

In honor of the best season (in my opinion) beginning today, I decided to do the Fall Time Cozy Time Tag! Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season of the year, and these next few months make up the best time of my year! I’ve been in fall mode for the past few weeks, but now people can’t look at me too strange because now it’s actually fall!

Crunching Leaves: Choose a book that has red, orange and yellow on it

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)

Cozy Sweater: What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (this book is the definition of warm and fuzzy!)

Fangirl

3. Fall Storm: Choose your favorite book/genre to read on a stormy day

If there was a stormy day, I would want to just stay in and relax. I would probably grab a light contemporary read, so I could sit down and finish it that day. I would just sit around and read all day!

4. Cool Crisp Air: What cool character would you want to trade places with?

My first instinct is screaming Hermione, but the more I think of it, I don’t know if I could handle all the Voldemort and war stuff. All my other favorite characters have like horrible lives, so this is really hard. Can I just be some happy person from a contemporary book? Maybe a less-annoying version of Lara Jean? All she does is bake all day, which sounds like a nice life.

5. Hot Apple Cider: What is an under hyped book that you want to see be the next hottest book?

This isn’t exactly under-hyped, but just a new series. I would love to see Lynette Noni’s booK Akarnae pick up some steam so others are introduced to the beautiful series she is currently creating.

6. Coats, Scarves, Mittens: What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own and want to keep hidden from the public?

There are so many I can think of. If you remember the old Anna and the French Kiss covers, those were pretty atrocious. I’m also one of those people who absolutely despise the Mortal Instruments covers so possibly one of those.

*EDIT: I CAME BACK BECAUSE I THOUGHT OF ONE.

Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1)

Mead’s series have the worst track record with covers. They just aren’t good.

7. Pumpkin Spice: What is your favorite comfort food in the fall time?

I love pumpkin everything essentially. No, this is not some “basic” thing  because I want to be like everyone else. Pumpkin has genuinely been my favorite flavor since I was a little girl. It’s just fall in a bite!

Find Me Book Tag

findmebooktag
https://melovebooks.wordpress.com/2015/09/07/find-me-book-tag/

I stumbled on this awesome tag on It’s All About Books and I thought it looked super fun. I had planned to do the Top Ten Tuesday today, but after considering the theme, I could not honestly think of many book series that I had started but not completed! So, I decided to find a tag, and this one looked very fun!

1. A Book With A Sunset:  What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick

What I Thought Was True

2. A Book With Water: Island of Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell

Island of the Blue Dolphins (Island of the Blue Dolphins #1)

3. A Book With A Flower: All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

All the Bright Places

4. A Book With A Heart: No Place to Fall by Jaye Robin Brown

No Place to Fall

5. A Book With Gone in the title: Gone by Michael Grant

Gone (Gone, #1)

6. A Book With a Moon: Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

Life As We Knew It (Last Survivors, #1)

7. A Book With A Weapon: Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

Queen of Shadows (Throne of Glass, #4)

8. A Book With a Girl in a White Dress: The One by Kiera Cass

The One (The Selection, #3)

9. A Book with a Couple Kissing: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

The Notebook

10. A Book with Headphones: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor & Park

I love tags like these where I have to search my goodreads! If you want to do this tag, please feel free to do so!

I know I have done quite a few tag/award posts lately, but I just couldn’t resist this one. About a week ago, I saw this Harry Potter tag over at Summer’s blog Xingsings, and I knew I just had to do it! Harry Potter is my favorite series, so it was sort of a no-brainer! There are some VERY hard questions that I’m not sure how I will answer, but I’m going to try!

1. Favorite book?

While I love every book, I particularly remember loving Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This is where we get our first glimpse of the grown up Maruders, and I loved the entire Sirius Black story line. When I was reading the climax, I was absolutely shocked when I realized how Lupin and Sirius were connected. Plus, we got the time-turner in this story, which was a very neat method to use in the plot.

2. Favorite movie?

Deathly Hallows Part 2. The last two movies were brilliant, because we get to see everything wrapping up. There are so many emotional scenes in the last movie that always get to me, and I love the feeling of the last adventure with our favorite trio!

3. Least favorite book?

I would probably have to say Chamber of Secrets. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved reading it, it’s just the others ranked higher for me. Now if we are talking least favorite movie, definitely Order of the Phoneix, because I physically can’t stand watching Umbridge. I seriously cringe every time she speaks.

4. Parts of the books/movies that make you cry?

There are soooo many sad parts in the books and movies! One that is probably the most emotional is Harry’s walk through the forest. It is right after he realizes that he has to die in order for Voldemort to die as well, so he goes to surrender himself. The snitch opens, the resurrection stone pops out, he talks to his parents and such, and everyone watching dies of crying.

5. Favorite character?

I’m going to change this a bit and say favorite supporting character, and that would be Lupin. He is  my favorite of all the professors, and I love his relationship with Tonks (in the books, as it is nonexistent in the movies). He lived such a rough life, finally found love and started a family, just for it to be taken away from him. If there were ever Maruder era stories, I would love to learn more about Lupin when he was younger.

6. What would your Patronus be?

Summer and I are patronus twins! Mine would definitely be a dolphin, because dolphins are awesome.

7. If you could have the Resurrection Stone, the Invisibility Cloak, or the Elder Wand, which one would you choose?

Invisibility Cloak would be sooo cool! I mean, just imagine being invisible!

8. What House would you be in?

This is forever the most stressful question. Pretty sure I would be Ravenclaw, but there is a very high possibility of me being in Huffepuff.  I don’t even know. I need to take the Pottermore quiz I guess.

9. If you could meet any member of the cast, who would it be?

Emma Watson, because I loved her portrayal of Hermione, and she seems like a very down to earth person. She has definitely done things outside of Harry Potter, and is an advocate for many great things. Would love to meet her!

10. If you were on the quidditch team, what position would you play?

This is a trick question, because I know that I would not be able to do absolutely any of the positions. Is watergirl an option, because I choose that.

11. Were you happy with the ending?

Most definitely! I see many people complaining about the epilogue, but I thought it was a nice way to end a great series.

12. How much does Harry Potter mean to you?

Harry Potter isn’t like any other book series. It is something beyond special that will always be close to my heart.

Wow , that was fun! If you are a lover of Harry Potter, I tag you! Siriusly, you really need to answer these questions, because the tag is very cool.
